Weather in Bologna is quite predictable and is usually similar in pattern to the northern Italy. Situated in Emilia-Romagna in the Po Valley in the northern Italy, Bologna has all four seasons easily distinguishable.

During July and August temperature rises up to 30°C but if the humidity level rises  then the living conditions get worse and you will find many restaurants, museums and businesses are found closed as locals move to more coastal areas to spend the summers. If you are visiting Bologna in summers then do not forget to carry an umbrella as there are heavy rain periods even during peak summers.

 

Winters in Bologna

Winters in Bologna are pretty cold but are not freezing. You can enjoy the cool winds touching your skin and the bright sunshine all at the same time. The winter season commences from mid of November and goes up to February. This can be the ideal time for the visit.  As it is the peak tourism season all museums, restaurants have special arrangements done. January is the coldest month of the season with an average temperature of 6°C while October- December bologna enjoys the most of its rainfalls. Winters are very similar to winters in New York. You can find the surroundings covered in fog and smog almost for the entire season. Many museums and restaurants are open not to mention you can also visit city’s historical center, which was built to offer miles of arcades offering you the best of the city.

Bologna during spring and Autumn

 

Bologna weather is at its best during spring and autumn, as the temperature does not reach its peaks like in winters and summers. Due to the predictability of weather both the seasons can be found ideal for spending your vacations. It is occasionally found subject to heavy rainfalls however the temperature stands to 10°C with 10 mm of rainfall in autumn, but whatever season you choose for your vacation food lovers can enjoy in any season.
